# Quickstart

Create, customize, publish, and review your first form in Rooks.

## Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Create your workspace

A workspace is the shared place where your team keeps forms and workspace settings.

If Rooks asks you to create one:

1. Enter a **Workspace name**, such as your organization or team name.
2. Select **Create workspace**.

If you already belong to a workspace, select it from the workspace switcher.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Describe your form

From the workspace home page, find **+ New Form**

Describe what you want the form to accomplish. A good prompt should include what information you need to collect and the purpose or intended audience of the form.

For example:

> Create a consultation request form for a family law practice. Collect contact details, preferred contact method, the type of matter, important dates, and a short description. The form is intended for prospective clients and should use calm, straightforward language.

Submit your description. Rooks creates a draft and opens it in the editor.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Ask for changes

Enter instructions in the conversation panel to refine the form.

For example:

> Move the contact questions to the first page.
>
> Make the email question required.
>
> Add Phone, Email, and Text message as contact preferences.
>
> Show the court date question only when the customer says they have an upcoming hearing.

Review each meaningful change in **Outline** and **Preview**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Test the form

Open **Preview** and complete the form using sample information.

Test:

* Every page
* Required questions
* Response choices
* Back and next navigation
* Each follow-up path
* The completion experience
 {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Publish and share

Select **Publish**, add notes describing the published version if needed, and select **Publish** again to confirm. The current draft becomes live immediately.

After publishing, open the menu beside **Republish** and select **See live**. Copy the live form’s URL from your browser and test it in a private browser window before sharing it with customers.

Responses are automatically stored in Rooks. You can also configure a response destination if you want to send responses to another service.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review responses

Open **Responses** to review submitted information.

From there, you can:

* Search responses
* Filter by date
* Review an individual response
* Include partial responses
* View archived responses
* Download response data as a CSV file
 {% endstep %}
 {% endstepper %}

### Draft changes after publishing

Editing a published form changes the draft only. Customers continue to see the last published version until you select **Republish**.
