# Preview, Publish, Update

Preview your draft, make it available to others, and return to earlier versions when needed.

### Preview the draft

You can use **Preview** at any point while building your form. Preview shows the current draft without changing the published form.

#### Test conditional paths

Try the different answers that control conditional logic. This lets you confirm that each conditional question or page is configured appropriately to appear when its condition is met and remain hidden when it is not.

You can test both sides of each condition:

* Choose an answer that shows the conditional content.
* Choose a different answer that keeps it hidden.
* Continue through the form to confirm that the remaining pages stay in the expected order.

If you find something you want to change, you can use **Select Element** to reference it in the chat bar and describe the adjustment to the form assistant.

#### Check the form’s appearance

**Preview** also gives you an opportunity to review:

* Colors, typography, and spacing
* Your logo and its placement
* Question and response-choice layouts
* Buttons, progress indicators, and error messages
* The overall experience across several pages

### Publish the form

Publishing makes the current draft available through the form’s share link.

When you select **Publish**, you can add publishing notes describing the version. A short summary such as “Updated eligibility questions and colors” can make the version easier to identify later.

#### Review the live form

After publishing, select **See Live** to open the published form. This lets you view the same version available to people using your share link.

The live form is separate from the draft shown in the workspace. Changes made after publishing will not appear there until you republish.

#### Test in an incognito window

You can open the live form in an incognito or private browsing window to see how it behaves for a new visitor. This avoids previously saved browser progress affecting the test.

Responses submitted through the live form may be saved as real responses, so use clearly identifiable test information if you complete a submission.

### Update a published form

You can continue editing a form after it has been published. These changes remain in the draft while the currently published version stays live.

When the draft changes are ready, select **Republish** to update the live form. You can then use **See Live** to review the newly published version.

### Versioning

Rooks keeps a version history so you can review earlier states of your form.

#### Preview an earlier version

Open **Version history** and select an earlier version to preview it. Publishing notes and timestamps can help you identify the version you want.

Earlier versions are read-only while you preview them. You can close the preview to return to the current draft.

#### Restore an earlier version

While previewing an earlier version, select **Restore this version** to use it as the basis for a new version.

Restoring does not delete or overwrite the other entries in version history. If the form is already published, you can select **Republish** when you want the restored version to become the live form.
